Bio
Jacob Zolotenko is a clinical therapist at Trafalgar and member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). He has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University as well as an Honours Bachelor of Science from University of Toronto Scarborough.
Jacob was drawn to the field both from personal experiences with mental health as well as a desire to help others and make the world a better place, and feels most fulfilled working with clients to help achieve their goals and make positive changes in their life.
Jacob uses a trauma-informed perspective employing a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.
In session, Jacob creates a compassionate, non-judgmental space for clients that puts them at ease, making them feel more comfortable opening up about difficult emotions and issues and helping to resolve these issues and achieve closure.
Jacob also likes to spend time in the community, interacting and playing guitar with clients as well as helping to facilitate groups.
