Dr. Christine Courbasson, Ph.D., C.Psych., is the Senior Clinical Advisor of Trafalgar Addiction Treatment Centres, an addiction treatment organization which also treats co-occurring mental health problems.
Dr. Courbasson is a registered psychologist with the province of Ontario.
She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from York University and was the recipient of a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Centre for Addiction and MentalHealth (CAMH) in the Concurrent Disorders Service, investigating the predictors of treatment success for individuals with addiction and mental health problems.
Subsequently, she helped to establish the Eating Disorders and Addiction Clinic in 2000.
She later developed a mindfulness based cognitive behavioural treatment for individuals with concurrent substance use and eating disorders and a cognitive behavioural treatment for substance users with social anxiety.
Dr. Courbasson has held positions including Head of the Eating Disorders and Addiction Clinic, Director of Training: Clinical Psychology Practicum Training Program at CAMH, and Assistant Professor with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
She has been with Trafalgar Addiction Treatment Centres since 2013, where she develops the overall treatment protocol and provides training and support to clinical staff.
