Bio
Lydia is a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work.
She believes that everything we do has a purpose. Lydia comes from an open and non-judgmental approach that invites curiosity in understanding why we do what we do. Lydia brings gentleness and lightness to her work and believes that therapy is a place where laughter and healing can co-exist.
She has experience working with individuals dealing with addictive patterns, adverse childhood experiences, and chronic cycles of homelessness and poverty.
Lydia is also passionate about bringing in a multi-cultural lens to her work and working with individuals who have experienced incarceration.
Lydia understands that therapy is not a “one-size fits all” solution.
For this reason, she draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities that include Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Narrative Therapy (NT), while incorporating a Strength-Based Approach, a Trauma-Informed, and an Anti-Oppressive Lens.
She is also featured in the first episode of Kinga Burjan‘s podcast series: Owning Your Recovery.
